Dany’s Irish experience

Let me start by sharing why I am here.

Everything started when I finished college and I was overthinking what would come next in my life, because I didn’t want to start working in my career right away. So I started searching for opportunities to work abroad, and that’s when I found the Work and Study visa in Ireland.

A couple of months later, suddenly I was here with my cousin. We first arrived at the Eli Schools accommodation. It was very nice, but for us it was shocking to live in such a reduced space for three people, and to share the kitchen with around 12 others. But we loved the city, the colors, the people. I still remember the first time I went to the river Liffey, I felt so lucky, It was a sunny day, which made the river look even more beautiful.

After a few days, we started looking for housing, our GNIB registration, our PPS number( everything we needed to start our life here) and fortunately, everything went very well!  we found the perfect house in our second week, a job by the fourth week, a GNIB appointment in our third week, and a PPS number appointment in our fifth week. I can say I was very lucky compared to many others.

In conclusion, I’m here because I wanted to experience life out of my country and im enjoying every minute here.

  3. I have heard that when you finish your college it is better to take some time for yourself to travel to learn about other cultures or know people of other countries, which can give you more meaning in your life and then you can choose better what is the best for you.
